MaaS (Manufacturing as a Service) and How Automotive Manufacturers Will Respond

The success of the Automotive industry does not solely depend on the designing and concept but also on manufacturing and logistics. MaaS is a concept where the manufacturing sector is no longer considered a part of the whole industry but is instead offered as a separate service. The need for the creation of Manufacturing as a Service sector arose from the rapid advancements in the field. From OEMs to the use of AI, the technology has grown so rapidly that it became imperative to deal the manufacturing sector as a separate service industry.

Automobile Industry faces several challenges including complexity, customer demands, and shorter innovative cycles. The manufacturing data has therefore increased tremendously. To increase the efficiency of the whole process, manufacturing methods have to be up-to-date. MaaS ensures that the process is energy and resource saving.

Response from the Automotive Industry

Automobile Industry has thus responded to this requirement with various techniques. First of all, they have shortened the time to market a product. Another thing they need to do is to improve the flexibility massively while increasing efficiency. Instead of solely focusing on the automation, the whole process from product design to service providence should be revaluated and made more efficient.

The entire manufacturing process of the automotive industry will be innovated and improved in order to provide a better service and a more desirable and successful end-product. This is how the automotive industry can meet the market demands and generate impressive yields.
